Summary (Key Points)
- Local-first storage: your people, notes, conversations, dates, and coaching data are stored on your device by default.
- User-controlled network features: AI, transcription, and location lookups run only when you choose to use those features.
- Screenshots: conversation screenshots and quick-reply screenshots used as processing inputs are treated as temporary and are not saved as image files by Renvo after processing. Dating profile screenshots you import may be saved locally in App-owned storage until you delete them or the associated person.
- No selling: we do not sell your personal information or share your conversation content with advertisers or data brokers.
- No cross-app advertising tracking: we do not use the iOS advertising identifier (IDFA) or engage in cross-app tracking for advertising.
- Third-party content: you are responsible for having the rights or consent to import and process other people's messages and screenshots. If you are someone whose information has been imported into another person's copy of Renvo and you want it removed, see "Your Rights" below.
Information We Process
Information you provide (and that the App may store locally)
Depending on your use of the App, you may provide:
- Your profile information, such as goals, preferences, and optional "about you" fields.
- Information about people you track in the App, such as names, notes, dates, and relationship frame details.
- Conversation content you enter, paste, or import, including text, message reactions, and screenshots.
- Profile screenshots you import, such as dating app profile screenshots you select. These remain on your device in App-owned storage until you delete them or the associated person.
- Date planning details and debrief inputs, including freeform notes, optional tags or ratings, and optional voice debrief recordings.
- Voice characteristics derived from your own writing and speech, including a "voice fingerprint" (e.g., vocabulary, capitalization, rhythm patterns) used so reply suggestions can sound like you. This data stays on your device unless you trigger an AI feature.
- Inferences the App generates about you (such as a calibration of how bold or cautious you prefer suggestions to be) and about the people you track (such as estimated interest level, warmth trend, or conversation stage). These inferences live in your local database.
- Feedback you submit from within the App, plus an optional contact email if you choose to provide one.
This content may include information that some laws treat as sensitive — for example, sexual orientation, gender identity, relationship structure, religious affiliation, or characteristics inferred from your voice — depending on what you choose to input or import. You provide this information voluntarily and can edit or delete it at any time.
Information collected automatically
The App and our service providers may process:
- App and device information, such as app version, platform, and basic device attributes.
- An anonymous, app-generated device identifier and a short authentication token used to rate-limit our AI backend. These are stored on your device and are not linked to your name, email, or any third-party advertising identifier.
- An app-generated analytics identifier (if analytics is enabled) that is not your Apple ID, Google account, or advertising ID.
- Diagnostics and crash data, such as stack traces and breadcrumbs, if crash reporting is enabled.
- Usage analytics event data, if analytics is enabled.
- If you enable notifications, the App schedules all notifications locally on your device. No push notification tokens are sent to any server.
We do not intentionally collect your contacts list, call or SMS logs, or unrelated photo library content.
Permissions and device access (optional)
The App may request permissions to enable optional features:
- Photos or media library: to import screenshots you choose.
- Microphone or speech recognition: to record audio for voice debrief and generate a transcript.
- Location (foreground): to resolve ZIP or city and enable venue suggestions.
- Calendar: to create calendar events for planned dates.
If you do not grant a permission, you can still use most of the App, but related features may not work.
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide core functionality, including local CRM, notes, dates, and planning or debrief workflows.
- Provide AI features you request, such as suggested replies, coaching, and extraction or analysis of screenshots.
- Transcribe audio you choose to record for voice debrief.
- Provide location-based features you request, such as ZIP or city resolution and venue suggestions.
- Improve reliability and performance through crash reporting and diagnostics.
- Understand feature usage and improve the App through analytics.
- Receive and respond to feedback and support requests.
AI Processing (User-Initiated)
Before any data is sent to a third-party AI provider, the App asks for your explicit consent through an in-app prompt that explains what data will be shared and with whom. You must accept this prompt before any AI features can be used. You can revoke your consent at any time in Settings > Data & Privacy > AI Data Sharing, which will immediately disable all AI features and prevent any further data from being sent.
When you trigger AI features, the App may send user-provided content — such as pasted text, selected screenshots, voice recordings, your profile information, and relevant context about the person and conversation — to an AI provider to generate the output you requested. Reply suggestions are processed by xAI. Other AI features, including screenshot analysis, profile extraction, coaching outputs, and transcription, are processed by OpenAI.
Depending on configuration, AI processing may occur:
- Directly from your device to the AI provider, or
- Via our backend proxy (hosted on Railway) that forwards your request to the AI provider.
AI processing is invoked only when you use an AI feature. We do not use your content to train our own models, and our AI requests are sent with a "do-not-store-for-training" flag where the provider supports it. AI providers may still temporarily process and log data for abuse prevention or operational purposes according to their own policies and retention settings.
Voice Debrief and Transcription (Optional)
- Audio is recorded locally on your device after you tap to start a debrief. The App does not perform background listening.
- If you request transcription, the App sends the audio file to our backend proxy, which forwards it to an AI transcription provider and returns the text.
- Transcripts are stored locally on your device alongside the relevant date entry so related features can work.
- By default the original audio file is deleted from your device after a successful transcription. You can change this behavior with the "Keep voice recordings" setting in the App.
- Your "voice fingerprint" — a derived stylistic profile of how you write and speak — may be updated from voice debriefs and from text you provide. It is stored on your device and may be included as context when you trigger AI features so suggestions can sound like you.
Location, Maps, and Places (Optional)
- The App may send your ZIP code or approximate coordinates to Google Geocoding or Places APIs to resolve your city or ZIP and power venue suggestions.
- If Google returns no results, the App may fall back to OpenStreetMap services (Nominatim and the Overpass API) for venue discovery, sending the same search query and coordinates.
- You can avoid location features and clear your saved location at any time.
Calendar (Optional)
If you choose to add a date to your calendar, the App will request calendar permission and create a calendar event using the details you provide. Calendar operations occur on-device through operating system APIs.
Analytics (Optional)
If analytics is enabled, the App may send usage events to PostHog, which can include:
- An app-generated analytics identifier stored on your device, not your Apple ID.
- Event names and basic event properties, such as app version and platform.
- Limited metadata that may include internal IDs, such as a local person ID or date ID.
We use analytics to understand product usage and improve the App. We do not use analytics for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
Crash Reporting (Optional)
If crash reporting is enabled, the App may send crash and diagnostic information to Sentry. This can include device or app information, stack traces, and breadcrumbs about what happened in the App before an error. We use this to diagnose and fix reliability issues.
Feedback Submissions
If you submit feedback from within the App, your message and any optional contact email you provide may be sent to our backend and delivered to us by email so we can read and respond.
Push Notifications (Optional)
If you grant notification permission, the App may send you reminders and nudges tied to your activity in the App — for example, before a scheduled date, when a conversation has gone quiet, or when a suggested next step is due. All notifications are scheduled and delivered locally on your device. No push notification tokens are registered with any external service.
Notification content is generated locally on your device. We do not need to send your conversation content or person names to a push provider in order to deliver a notification. You can disable individual notification categories, mute names on the lock screen using the App's "Hide names on lock screen" setting, or revoke notification permission at any time in your device settings.
Subscriptions and Payments
Renvo offers optional paid subscription tiers. All purchases, billing, renewals, refunds, and cancellations are handled entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play according to their terms. We do not collect, receive, or store your payment card details, billing address, or full Apple ID / Google account.
To manage subscription receipts and entitlements (so the App knows whether you have an active subscription), we may use a subscription management service such as RevenueCat. That service may receive anonymous device identifiers and the subscription receipt issued by Apple or Google. It does not receive your conversation content, person data, or other in-App content.
You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings on the App Store or Google Play.
Service Providers (Third Parties)
Depending on which features you use and how your build is configured, we may use the following categories of service providers. We only share data with third-party providers that maintain data protection standards equivalent to or exceeding those described in this policy, including encryption in transit, restrictions on data use, and contractual commitments not to sell or repurpose your data.
- xAI: reply suggestions and related generated text features you invoke.
- OpenAI: screenshot analysis, profile extraction, conversation parsing, coaching outputs, and optional voice transcription.
- Google (Geocoding and Places): ZIP or city resolution and venue suggestions when you use location features.
- OpenStreetMap (Nominatim and Overpass API): fallback venue lookup when Google returns no results.
- Railway: cloud hosting provider for our backend proxy that routes AI, transcription, location, and feedback requests.
- Expo: build and update infrastructure. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device and are not delivered through any external push service.
- RevenueCat (or a comparable subscription management service): subscription entitlement and receipt validation, if you purchase a subscription.
- PostHog: product analytics, if enabled.
- Sentry: crash reporting and diagnostics, if enabled.
- Resend or a similar email delivery service: delivery of in-app feedback emails, if enabled.
These providers process information on our behalf to provide the requested functionality and may retain information according to their own policies and your configuration.
Data Retention
- Local data: most content you create or import — including profile screenshots, conversations, dates, notes, voice fingerprint, and AI-generated inferences — is stored on your device until you delete the associated person, clear individual items, or use "Delete All Data."
- Profile screenshots: imported profile screenshots are saved in App-owned storage on your device and persist there until you delete them or remove the associated person. Copies sent to an AI provider for analysis are transmitted as transient request data, not persistently stored on our backend.
- Voice debrief audio: deleted from your device by default after a successful transcription. If you turn on "Keep voice recordings," files remain on your device until you delete the date or use "Delete All Data."
- Transient requests: AI, transcription, and location requests are processed to return a result; service providers may retain data under their policies and settings.
- Analytics and crash reports: retained by the relevant service providers according to their retention settings.
- Backend logs: our backend may log basic request metadata, such as endpoint, status code, and timing, for operational purposes.
- Subscription receipts: receipt data needed to validate an active subscription may be retained by our subscription management provider for as long as the subscription is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for accounting and fraud prevention.
Your Choices, Deletion, and Controls
You can:
- Avoid optional features that transmit data to third parties, including AI, transcription, location, and calendar.
- Export your data, if available, for your own backup.
- Delete your local data within the App, including any "Delete All Data" feature.
If you want us to delete server-side data we control, such as feedback messages we receive or operational logs, contact us at contact@tryrenvo.com. We may not be able to delete data controlled by third-party service providers except as permitted by their policies.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your device and any device backups.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children and is intended for users who are at least 17 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If you believe a person under 17 has used the App, please contact us at contact@tryrenvo.com.
Your Rights (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or equivalent local law.
Legal basis for processing. When the App transmits your data to third-party services (AI processing, analytics, crash reporting), our legal basis is your consent, which you provide each time you actively use a feature that triggers such processing (for example, requesting AI coaching or reply suggestions). For analytics and crash reporting, processing is based on our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the App.
Your rights. Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data the App holds about you (available on-device through the Profile and Export features).
- Rectify inaccurate data (you can edit any data stored in the App at any time).
- Erase your data (use the "Delete All Data" option or uninstall the App; for server-side data such as feedback emails or operational logs, contact us).
- Restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Data portability (use the App's export feature to download your data).
- Withdraw consent at any time by ceasing to use the relevant feature; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@tryrenvo.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Data controller. LAZYSUPPLY LLC (address listed above) is the data controller for any personal data processed through the App's backend services and third-party integrations. For data stored only on your device, you — the user — control that data directly, and you act as the controller for any information you choose to import about other people.
If you are a third party (someone whose information has been imported into another user's copy of Renvo). Because the App is local-first, we generally cannot identify you, locate the device that holds the data, or delete that data ourselves. If you believe a user has imported your information into Renvo, you should first ask that user to delete the relevant person or use "Delete All Data." You can also contact us at contact@tryrenvo.com and we will make reasonable efforts to assist, including deleting any related server-side logs we control and providing guidance to the user. We cannot, however, force a user to delete content they have stored on their own device.
International Transfers
If you use features that rely on third-party service providers, information may be processed in countries other than where you live. For users in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, transfers to countries without an adequacy decision (such as the United States) are conducted on the basis of standard contractual clauses or other appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law. All transfers use encrypted connections.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and may provide additional notice in the App.
